Mounting Bracket
The included steel and plastic bracket attaches to the laptop and holds the 15.6-inch monitor in three positions: on top of the laptop screen, to the left, or to the right. Swivel adjustment allows angling the monitor for comfortable viewing. The bracket fits laptops from 11 to 18.5 inches, which is a wider range than most competing extender brackets (typically 13-17 inches). Assembly uses thumbscrews and provided hardware. The folding design allows collapsing the bracket for transport.
This bracket-based approach differs from slide-out or clip-on extenders. The monitor is held by an external frame rather than attached to the laptop lid, which distributes weight differently and avoids adhesive or direct lid contact. For more extender form factors, browse our laptop screen extenders category.
Display Performance
1920 x 1080 on 15.6 inches produces 141 PPI, the standard for this size class. The 250 nits brightness is at the lower end, adequate for dim-to-moderate indoor environments but may appear dim in bright offices or near windows. The 45% NTSC color gamut is approximately 63% sRGB, which is a narrower color range than the 100% sRGB standard. Colors appear less vivid and saturated. For general productivity (documents, email, web browsing, video calls), this is functional. For color-dependent work, it is a limitation.
Panel type (IPS, TN, VA), refresh rate, response time, viewing angle, and screen finish are not specified in the Amazon data. Without these values, motion clarity, off-angle color consistency, and glare behavior cannot be assessed. For understanding how these specs affect daily use, see our buying guide.
Connectivity
USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI cables are included per the product bullets. The listing describes the cables as a “power adapter” with USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI, which suggests power and video routing through separate connections depending on the device. For USB-C video requirements, see our USB-C portable monitor guide.

Is This Monitor Right For You?
If you want a monitor and mounting bracket in one purchase: Most portable monitors and laptop extenders are separate from their mounting solutions. The VIVO bundles the 15.6-inch monitor and the steel/plastic bracket together. No separate stand, cover, or mounting hardware to purchase. For brand-name portable monitors without brackets, see the Acer PM161Q review.
If you use laptops from 11 to 18.5 inches: The 11-18.5″ compatibility range covers small ultrabooks through large gaming laptops. Most competing extenders top out at 17 or 17.3 inches.
If you value brand trust and warranty: VIVO is an established brand in monitor mounts and ergonomic accessories. The 3-year warranty is above the 1-year standard in the portable monitor category. Browse more at our portable monitors category page.
If you need strong display specs: 250 nits and 45% NTSC are at the lower end of the portable monitor range. Panel type, refresh rate, response time, and viewing angle are not specified. For monitors with complete, higher-end display specs, our comparison hub covers alternatives.
Final Verdict
VIVO’s STAND-PM01M provides a 15.6-inch 1080P portable monitor bundled with a steel and plastic laptop mounting bracket in one purchase. The bracket fits the widest laptop range in the category (11-18.5 inches) with top, left, or right positioning. VIVO’s brand presence in monitor mounts and the 3-year warranty add post-purchase confidence. USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI cables are included.
The display specs (250 nits, 45% NTSC, 1000:1) are at the budget baseline. Panel type, refresh rate, response time, viewing angle, screen finish, weight, and dimensions are not specified in the Amazon data. For users who want a complete monitor-plus-bracket solution with wide laptop compatibility and a 3-year warranty from an established brand, the VIVO delivers that convenience. For users who need verified display performance or stronger color and brightness specs, alternatives with more complete data are available across our comparison hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the bracket attach directly to the laptop lid?
The bracket is described as a “holding bracket” that “secures to laptops.” It uses thumbscrews and provided hardware. This is a frame-based mounting approach rather than adhesive or clip-on. The bracket positions the monitor adjacent to or above the laptop screen.
Can I position the monitor above the laptop screen?
Yes. The bracket supports three positions: on top of the laptop screen, to the left, or to the right. Swivel adjustment allows angling within each position.
Why is the color gamut only 45% NTSC?
45% NTSC is approximately 63% sRGB. This is a narrower color range than the 100% sRGB standard. Colors appear less vivid and saturated. For basic productivity (documents, email, web browsing), this is adequate. For creative work where color accuracy matters, monitors with higher gamut coverage serve better.
Is VIVO a known brand?
Yes. VIVO is an established brand in monitor mounts, desk stands, and ergonomic accessories. The 3-year warranty reflects their standard coverage across product lines.
